How do I know the fuel powered device is on and working?

How large of an area does one fuel powered device protect?

Thermacell Fuel-Powered Repellers provide a 15-foot zone of effective mosquito repellency which is the size of an average deck or patio. You may use more devices to protect larger areas.

Can the repeller be used indoors, in a tent, or in a covered porch?
